My Integrated Approach to Therapy

Motivated by the wisdom that there is inherent goodness in all, I work with individuals to explore positive ways to discuss, understand, and address their emotional and behavioral struggles. Together, we set reachable goals and develop dynamic, creative, and tangible ways to achieve them. I am trained in the Expressive Arts and hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Art Therapy from Lesley University. With additional training in Play Therapy, I effectively interweave art and play techniques to meet clients where they are, in the language they best understand. As a long-time meditation practitioner, I also know the benefit of mindfulness-awareness practice on one’s experiences and see value in integrating this practice into the therapeutic process.

The foundation of my therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that developing nurturing relationships is essential for a person’s psychological well-being. We will work to reconnect with your true self, uncover your strengths, and live in greater alignment with your values, purpose, and potential. I build relationships by combining Person-Centered and Mindfulness practices with Art Therapy and Play Therapy techniques. This integrated method allows me to form insightful connections with my clients by encouraging open dialogue, often leading to the invaluable question, “What unmet need or inner longing might be beneath this uncomfortable emotion or challenging behavior?” A practice that pushes beyond the urge to respond directly to external behaviors, revealing a more profound and accurate understanding of the situation.

I specialize in working with trauma, knowing that it is an integrated part of our lives, presenting itself in many forms. I provide education, support, and a safe environment to process all types of traumatic experiences. I also have experience working with various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, neurodivergent behaviors (learning disabilities, ADHD, spectrum disorders), life transitions, LGBTQ matters, and family conflict.
